About Irene Carr

Love says “I am everything.” Wisdom says “I am nothing.” Between the two, my life flows.  -Sri Nisargadatta

Simply, I am a human being on the journey of life.  I have already been blessed with many lessons in life.  Some were enjoyable, while other lessons…well, not so much. What I have the ability to appreciate now is that both types of lessons were exactly what were needed for growth.  This appreciation has grown out of trust, forgiveness, and acceptance.  These are abilities to be cultivated.

It truly is not what life presents us with, but our personal choice of how we interact with what life presents.  We are always at choice whether we are aware of it or not.

The conundrum is that we are simply human and exquisitely divine.  What usually takes place in each of our lives is that we deny both our humanity and our divinity.  Then most often from a place of hurt or pain, we start to embrace our divinity.  However, if we stay only there, we deny the depth and fullness of our lives for contrast provides experience.  The human is here to experience on behalf of the divine.  God said of all creation “It is good.”  It is good to be human.

Go into yourself and test the depths in which your life takes rise; at its source you will find the answer to the question.  -Rilke

We live in this illusion that if only they would change or this issue in my life or physical body would go away, then everything would be great and I’d be happy.  Most of us have even had some success with this and found ourselves happy for a while.  However, what inevitably arises is another issue.  So while curing is great, healing is everything.  Curing is simply the ridding oneself of a bodily symptom or a disease, and while that is great, it falls immensely short of healing.  Healing is multidimensional involving body, mind and spirit.  Also there are some things that are not curable, so then what?  Is massive suffering the destiny for the remainder of our lives?  As the Outward Bound folks say, “If you can’t get out of it, get into it.”   Healing requires us to face that which we avoid, or at least attempt to avoid.  Healing is inner balance that allows us to interact with whatever life is presenting in a way that is nourishing not only for us, but for all involved. I am honored to supporthealing.  If you are ready to embark on a healing journey, I would love the opportunity to support you.

There are so many gifts, my dear, still unopened from your birthday.  O, there are so many hand-crafted presents that have been sent to your life from God. -Hafiz
