The most important thoughts of the day are two in number.
#1: The first thought we think upon waking sets the tone of the day.
We have all experienced that, right? Wake up ticked off, and what shows up the rest of the day?
#2 The next most important thought of the day is the last thought we think before we fall asleep.
The last thought before sleep prepares us for the tone of our next day. In Ayurveda, it is said “The next day begins the night before.” Bookending the day with the three “G’s” as outlined below is a powerful practice to reclaim happiness, peace and love.
The practice of 3 G’s
Upon awaking up and falling asleep, bring attention or awareness to the heart and invoke the following;
Gratitude: If one only had the prayer of “thank you” that would be sufficient
Gratitude is the gate to connection and love. I like to think of gratitude as Mother Mary. Sometimes it is challenging to go direct to God, but gratitude affords us another way.
God: Your personal understanding of the Divine
Bringing God into our hearts and minds is expanding. It supports us in remembering what is really important in this life.
Goodness: The knowing life happens for us
Albert Einstein stated:
“The most important decision you will make in your life is whether or not the Universe is friendly.” When we choose to view the Universe as friendly, then we know everyone and everything is here supporting our evolution. It is the knowing we are loved and cared for.
